Mother Dies Heroically Saving Her Young Son In Escalator Collapse

A mother was killed when an escalator collapsed at a shopping centre in China, moments after she managed to throw her infant son to safety.

30-year-old Xiang Liujuan was travelling up the escalator at Anliang department store in Jingzhou with her two-year-old son but, when they reached the top, a floor plate gave way and the mother fell through the floor.

The horrific moment was captured on CCTV but also shows the incredible moment the woman was able to thrust her toddler towards the mall staff, who were able to drag the child to safety.

Well, it's the same with getting hit with a car. You just don't expect it. You think you will live a decent life and something with a very small chance won't happen, like getting struck by lightning, hit by a car, or in this case, falling through a floor plate until it hits you.

It sucks, such a young child and such a young mother. Curious if they were able to track down the family of the two. Only thing i can say is Rest In Peace.
