Thats Because Certain Programs Can Not Be Recovered After Hibernation/Sleep ...It Just Won't Work(It's Not Possible To Sleep The Laptop While Combat Arms Is Runnning And Have It Work Afterwards)...You Can Change What Closing The Lid Does If You Change It To "Do Nothing" Then You'll Be Able To Close And Open Without Any Issues

Maybe go to Start, well this is if you have WIN.7
then the arrow next to 'Shut Down',
And then 'Sleep'
that should send it to sleep and you wouldn't have a problem.
