2 Years as Staff
Exactly an hour ago I was promoted to minion for the Battlefield section.
Two years ago, applied for Battlefield minion, but unfortunately was not selected. However, three days later the selected staff which was Beam was demoted due to his mistakes, and from there I was given the position and started my journey.
Decided to make this thread as a message, and a thanks note to those who helped me survive in the position.
One of the questions people always ask me, "Why are you wasting your time on a forum", or "You're feeling good because you're staff on a forum on the internet, but you're nothing in the real life".
Let me answer both of them. First question is related to what I love mostly. As some of you may know, I'm into programming and file analysis. Always liked the idea of decompiling a file and looking into it. MPGH actually helped me improve a lot in that, which IMHO is not a waste of time, since it will pretty much be my job in the future. Plus, other than moderating being fun, it removes depression and allows me do something useful at least. If you haven't tried the feeling of approving a file and it comes out clean, and everybody enjoys using it, let me tell you, It's an achievement by itself. Until this day, didn't once approve an infected file, which also makes me proud, because I simply love doing my tasks, and I know how serious it is, A simply mistake on my part could get hundreds of people infected. And as Tommy said once, It's like going to the battlefield without having a weapon.
Secondly, the answer I have for such a question is simply, quit being a butthurt. Like really, almost every staff member is told this by random members. If you find yourself more worthy or feel you didn't get a chance, or even don't care about the position, don't act like a child on the internet and start getting mad over something such as that.
If you want to become a staff member, dedicate yourself to helping people, stay active in a specific section and assist the current staff, but don't interfere with their jobs, be friendly, stay away from General, don't act-up and be yourself. If you deserve it, you will get it.
By applying for staff, you must know that you're not applying on a blog, you will be spending time helping users, approving files, which will help you understand the meaning of your 'tasks', which will help you in your real life.
This was my message to everybody on this forum thinking of being staff. Believe in yourself. Now a huge thanks to following people who helped, and still helping me until the day I got GM.
- @Liz ; Got no words to say, we all know how hard you work to keep up with us. Yes I know I've been always a derp, and kept asking for stuff, but thanks a lot of keeping up with me. And thanks for trusting me all this years.
- @Dave84311 ; Didn't really talk with you that much when I first got staff, and TBH, I thought you were just sitting there doing nothing and not caring about MPGH, but after talking and knowing you, I understand what you do for us. PS - Bane is not white
- @arunforce ; Thanks for the time we've spent on BattleTale, the game is really good and please stay on developing it even more, pretty sure it will have a huge fan base. But won't forget that you banned me.
- @Flengo ; I wouldn't have been without your help and advice. You were always there for me, whenever I needed help with anything, starting from my own life problems, to programming and moderating on here. I'm glad we're still in contact till this day, and sorry for being a derp almost all the time, I know I spam you a lot, but ya know, they always bully me
