Camera Lens
So I was thinking about buying myself a Canon DSLR camera specifically the Canon EOS 70D DSLR But I'm still not sure though,

that's not the issue that I'm having its rather that I have no Idea what lens I should buy

I am going to need a lens that can take High def pictures of For example the Northern Lights and nature in general
So i need a good lens for that,

If anyone is good with cameras and lenses please help me out that would be fantastic
If you 1. Don't know much about photography 2. Don't know much about camera's and 3. Don't know much about lenses then I recommend just getting a whole kit of something that's going to be cheaper.

Just because you have a good camera and a good lens it does not mean that you'll get a good shot. I'd recommend a t5i or two generations before.

I may not know much about cameras themselves but I would say that I know my fair share about how to take pictures and edit them and stuff,
it's just that I have not really found a "super Good" lens for snapping pictures of the Night sky yet

So that why I mostly need help with the lens rather than the camera itself cause my dad has an camera that i can have but Not a lens sadly :/

Took this with my dads camera last night

Yeah but do you have any suggestions on lenses in the 200-600$ range?
Get a decent lens will do , it's only slight difference in terms on performance but a huge difference in price , use the money to get a speed lite or softbox you will find more money worth by doing so

.....I know I have to get a decent lens but I'm asking if anyone knows and has experience with some good lenses
Man I am still trying to find a reason to own a overpriced camera.
A good camera doesn't make good shots. It's the photographer themself.

A professional photographer can make an edited photo taken on an iPhone 5 look better, than a stock photo on a high end camera like the Canon EOS 7D Mark ii.

I know,
Like I've said I manly just need a better lens that can take in more light and preferably solid metal rather than plastic
There are different lens for different types of photography but maybe you can just get the general/all-purpose lens.
