Seems like BTC is rising in price once again. Sold $50 worth of BTC a month ago, it's worth $100 now

Any thoughts on why this is happening and how long it will stay like this?

Is it profitable for an everyday person to mine bitcoin? Or is it more of something that numerous people with advanced computers would do?

Second thing. Wouldn't recommend mining with a regular computer, it's bad for the hardware too.

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, It is used allot for the sale of illegal materials and services, like childporn guns drugs etc. more info

The price is going up because of a higher demand compared to the supply, so probably a big deep web site is back up

its not worth it for average guy to do it the amount of equipment you need costs allot and it breaks rather quickly, if you are lucky enough to make a profit it won't be allot

It's untrackable money so people use it for things you don't want anyone knowing about. It's also like a stock, it's price fluctuates by demand for it. (it was 1k then went to $180 when alot of "Deep Web" sites closed down, now it's back up to about 500.)
