Placements

I never really got into playing competitive matches until recently. I have won 8 games and have to wait about 16 more hours to play any more at the moment / / My question is this. I am currently being matched with "Master Guardian Elites" and " Distinguished Master Guardians" with the occasional "Legendary Eagle." I am not using any hacks and am doing ok in some matches.

Does this mean I will be placed around this level of player? / / and if so is this a normal position to be placed in?

Yeah it should be. Are you topping the leaderboards, sitting in the middle, bottom fragging? If your sitting at the top you could possibly get LE if bottom MGE if middle DMG. Also depends on your loses.

Yeah, but it'd be alot harder aswell.

Generally, your rank improves by MVP's and won rounds.

If you always win 16 - 0, you are not loosing points at all and only win points. A won round against certain ranks compared to your rank gives you a certain amount of points, loosing against them compared to your rank looses you a certain amount of points.

MVP's give you extra points, which if playing against higher ranked enemies would boost your rank alot.

That doesn't mean that you can always plant the bomb and win by bomb explosion and not killing the last enemy since VALVe changed the way to determine who get's the MVP. If a player got a tripple kill in a round, it might happen that he get's the MPV even though the round is won by bomb explosion.
