Need Help Installing Scripts From scratch

I've spent the last 3 days pretty much non stop trying to find a guide of some sort explaining how to install LUA scripts from scratch, but seems like there isn't one, I did find one guide then realized that is was horribly out of date. So long story short here I am asking for help, It would be best if someone can explain it all to me in a step by step fashion. Cheerios
