Social Engineering - Phone
OK, so, some idiot on an auction webpage posted a picture with serial numbers, IMEI, ICCID's etc. (Samsung S7)
Is there anyway I could use this information to score a new phone for myself?


(I posted it here because there's way more traffic here than in the SE section, and I'd rather grab this before someone else does the same thing I'm thinking of, if it's possible)

I'm quite sure that livechat is out of the selection, as well as phonecalls, because they will ask you to send it in via the official company. Possibly if you could find a Samsung reseller and find out if you could get a "replacement" for your "broken" phone. The easiest way to explain that it's broken is by telling them that the display doesn't work. Make sure it's an online company and has a live chat option.

So you'd recommend a retailer rather than the Samsung company itself?

Yes, use a trusted retailer, but one you could SE.

You will have to box Samsung most likely. I am quite sure that they also place a hold on your CC, don't know the exact amount though.

What do you mean by box Samsung?
Also, I don't really have any of my personal details tied to this at all, someone else just posted all the information.

Sending out an empty box, filled with other stuff, to Samsung which make it looks like it has been stolen.

So, let me clarify, I'll request a new one, they require me to send it back to them, I'll send a box of shit, then act all upset about them losing my phone?

Well it's not as simple as I just said. They WILL charge your CC/VCC for a certain amount and they might open up an investigation.

Even if it was purchased in a physical store? Because looking into all the details it seems like it might have been bought at BestBuy and belongs to Verizon.
What will ensue during an investigation?

Yes they would still charge the card. They will start an investigation which could take some time.

Would it work to use a pre-paid?

You don't have to use his info. Just do the following.
Buy amazon gift card, apply it to a new VPN account.
Buy a phone with FULFILLED BY AMAZON, (you can buy without it but easier with)
Then wait for it to arrive.
SE it, by making an excuse like it didn't arrive, or there was only a paper in the box, or there is a phone in there but the label says DO NOT SHIP BACK BECAUSE CHEMICALS, or something like that.
After refund, transfer the funds from that account to a different account and redo it.

P.S: Make sure before se'ing you have some legit purchases (don't have to be big, one or two dollar purchases work)

I know how to actually se phones without buying but it gets complicated and you probably won't know how to do it, once you become proficient contact me.

SE the following to pick up skills

starbucks
Brush buddies
Dominos
Mcdonolds
Taco bell (personal experience with people coming in to do it when i worked there)
etc etc etc

If you do know how to get free phones, score an international S7 for me would you? I really need a new phone, and I've never EVER had an up to date phone. Ever.
