Easy question, not such an easy answer. I've always thought about it as a child.

Who named things, where did these words even come from and why were they given that name? Everyone knows that a tree is a tree or a table is a table. But why?

Yes there are different languages, but they all recognize as the same object and translated word.

Or maybe I'm being a confused idiot.

I have the same question too. Who came up with the names of the colors? How do we all know to call red as red? What if red was called blue and blue was called red?

thats not deep thinking that's just over thinking. words are verbal associations and meanings can differ from region to region.

Yes. Theories. Sounds and image comparison in the minds of those who originally named them. Still doesn't explain everything.

Ever think that yellow to me could look like a different yellow to you?, for example: my yellow could be your red but theres no way of finding out because we both still know that colour as yellow. It boggles my mind

well , actually the things was given their name just because people felt the need to recognize them and it could be even different names , this is how we got a lot of languages all over the world though

We should go deeper.
