BTC export scam

I have a Logitech SE service and today I got contacted by a scammer. His skype is "goldforsale3" and he said he doesn't has a MPGH account even if I am only active here and this is the only forum I shared my skype address.

His scam attempt was simple: he offered to buy a large amount of items from me using BTC, but when I gave him my BTC address he told me that he needs me to export my address to a paper wallet and to send the file to him, otherwise he can't send me the money. The catch is that if I would have exported the address and gave the file to him then he would have gained access to my BTC and could have stolen my BTC. He them told me that he only needs the QR code from the paper wallet, but beware that that is enough for him to steal your BTC.

So, if that skype address is contacting you or someone wants you to export your BTC wallet and send it to them, then beware because most probably it's a scam.

I had some fun with him, he kept asking for the QR code of my BTC wallet private key and I kept making QR codes of links to shock websites and sent him those QR codes. As you guesses he wasn't happy

There is only 2 from what I know, The paper wallet scam and the Double Spend. Where you send the money simultaneously to 2 addresses and the one you sent it to first gets it while the second stays trying to confirm but it won't and funds are removed after.

paper wallet is basically you giving account access up to someone else when they import it in to their wallet.

still, they're popping up out of no-where. next thing you know there are gonna be chargebacks on btc.

haha that would be something

fortunately it's impossible for scammers to chargeback on BTC

most common scams can be easily avoided if you're cautious, especially if the scammer is bad at it

He's right.^

It's impossible for chargebacks to occur on Bitcoins as the value you send changes and it's meant to be completely "Anonymous" which means its not possible to chargeback for products.

I almost got scammed by him, very suspicious cause he only accept blockchain address, what a luck cause i found this thread, thanks for informing, please track his IP or something so he has no chance to scam users here

That wouldn't help much because he can easily make another skype and do the same scam. Users on this forum should be aware of his method so they don't fall for it even if he tries it with a different skype or someone else tries to do it.
