[Tutorial] Change "Glow" from bool to uint (color)

This should work on all sources, as long as you have an AS3 client. If youre good at AVM2 you can do it with RABCDASM too.

If youre using an AS3 client, go to com.company.assembleegameclient.objects.Player.as. Search for "-1" in that file and look for anything that looks like this:

Code:
_local9 = TextureRedrawer.outlineGlow(_local8, 0, (((this._2v == -1)) ? 0 : 0xFF0000));

this._2v is youre legendary rank variable (Glowing). 0xFF0000 is the glow color. Change _2v to an uint, both on the client and server (you can also rename it to Glow or something). Change the "_2v == -1 ? 0 : 0xFF0000" part to "this._2v", and on the server you can change glow to be an hex, for the color. Havent tested it but it should work.

If you want, you can make admins have different color glow with this. Or if you use FSoD you can make different colors for weekly/mothly/alltime.

NOTE: This is a Tutorial, not source code. It means that I give you something to look for, and you can figure it out yourself. I dont like all the "tutorial" threads where you just have to copy paste everything, it should be labeled as "Source Code"
Color of Glow was always a uint(color) XD it was never a bool, it's a bool in the server files Player.cs but it isn't a bool in the client its just waiting for the clear from the server unless you made it so it would always be around the character which can be easily changeable in player.cs XD and what I was referring to was giving a player glow when he is not in legends

and yes it is possible to change the color with a command if you have another color in storage in the client waiting for a packet to give it the greenlight.
such as if you had an actual bool in the client and made it so if it received a specific greenlight it would change colors then its very possible

Details if you didn't understand what I am saying:

Glow is not a bool in the client its just waiting for the server to respond so it can make the player "glow"
Glow in the client is already a uint(color) so all your doing is changing the color.
If you wanted the player to glow without them being in the leaderboards then its just a simple exception that can be made with a if statement
He was asking can I make a command that changes color...and its very simple to do so just make it so 0xFF0000(blue) would get replaced with
0x0000CC(blue)
when it received a certain packet from the server

It was an int.
Code:
public var _2v:int = -1;
and on prod
Code:
public var legendaryRank_:int = -1;
filteredTexture = TextureRedrawer.outlineGlow(texture, 0, (((this.legendaryRank_ == -1)) ? 0 : 0xFF0000));
About the other stuff you said, no idea what youre talking about. The server tells the client about the legendary rank in the NewTick message. My "tutorial" just changes it so the server doesnt tell the client 0 or -1, but an actual hex for the glow color. What you want to do with it is your own choice.
I feel like you are not understanding what I am saying at all XD but whatever do what you want I am sure this is going to help someone

Feel free to explain it again.

nvm its whatever I can't explain it anymore clearer so I am fine being misunderstood :3

I will try 1 more time...

The color of the glow was always a uint....
The player glowing or not was always a bool
The color of the glow is what the guy was asking for...
but your tutorial say this
[Tutorial] Change "Glow" from bool to uint (color)

It was never a bool it was always a uint...
The player glowing is decided in the server as such Player.cs :: glow = IsUserInLegends();
The client never had a bool it was just waiting for the server's green light to apply the glow to the player

So Color is not a bool its a uint
Glow is bool and its color is a uint

I hope this explained it...

Server : IsUserInLegends? True? Apply glow....

Client : Response...Approved....Applying Glow....Applied

OR

Server : IsUserInLegends? False? Denied...

Client : No Response? Denied...

-------------

Color : uint 0xFF0000(red)...and it never changed besides the color of it being 0(clear) while the server is denying it...

Color != Bool
Glow = Bool
I'm currently having issues of my own about what DimitriSavage is talking about. In "Player.cs" it only allows me to set glowing as true or false, and won't let me set a color. How would I go about fixing this?

I'm also using the Fab source.

Edit: I thought I fixed it, however in-game It's just a red glow.

What I did to fix it:

Color = Client

Glow = Server

Edit Color in Client

This tutorial is for changing the glow color on the server, instead of it being in the client. I know how the legendary rank system works. I also never said that color is a bool, and btw its an int in the client, not uint.

What I did to fix it:
Make it an "uint". If its still red, post the code from the client, ill show you what to change.
