It's not "detected so quick"
It's they flagged the accounts weeks back, so while he may update it daily, some early iteration may be detected (scary if VAC picked up the correct signature) then people post it in a recent thread making it seems like the recent version was detected (which it could have). But one way to know is stop playing if you used one, and if two weeks from now you aren't banned then the version you used was more likely undetected.
