Testing VOIP

I'm just doing a small experiment with VOIP systems like Skype etc. Is there any benchmark tools in which I can view objective information like packet loss?

Take a look at winpcap, generally a useful library for packets. Maybe wireshark can sniff out unsent packets but not entirely sure.
