No you can use fullscreen.

Also OP, the bunnyhop behaves similarly, in that you will jump while typing in chat if its on. Also I found out the hard way you cant plant bomb by holding left click if auto pistol is on also. Ill let you know if I find anything else but that seems to be it.

There are a few bugs which seem to occasionally fix themselves - thanks for the information, I'll work on it
