COD4 keeps crashing

I want to inject a dll but when i join a server it crashes. I run on windows 8 and i think the client is something like COD4X18

i have the same problem and would like to resolve it.

i heard from a friend that you have to delete the X18 folder from your cod4 folder.
I will come back with results

there is community patch 1.8, hacks for 1.7 may crash the game...
