Section rules, guidelines, info, and server status

This thread contains the information you need to know for this section. It outline the rules and guidelines that must be followed.

These section rules are an extension of the general site rules.

Rules and guidelines:

• This section is for Pokemon GO related stuff only. Anything posted that is outside the context of the game will be moved to the appropriate section or deleted if there is no appropriate section for it.
• No flaming, trolling, or spamming.
• No nudity, profanity, or racism.
• No outside links to other hacking or cheating related websites. If you want to post a file that is located on another website, upload the file here through the upload system.
• PROVIDE CREDITS!

If rules aren't followed, warnings, infractions, or bans may be imposed.

Some information:

• As of right now, if you use some method of cheating such as GPS spoofing, you may be soft banned. In particular for GPS spoofing, if you move an obvious far distance in a flash, you will be soft banned. If you are going to use such a method, use it at your own risk. Take small distances at a time so you're not flagged by their detection system.
  
  • The punishment may change. As of right now the detection systems are handing out soft bans, but in the future there might be harsher penalties. Remember to use such information at your own risk.
  • If you are soft banned, you will be unable to catch Pokemon, start gym battles, or collect items from Pokestops. Pokemon will escape and run away from you after trying to catch them in a Pokeball, gym battles can't be started and the sign on Pokestops when spun will not provide any items.
  • Soft bans last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. It seems it varies - some people may be unbanned within a few minutes while some people may be unbanned in a few hours.
  
  
• The game is currently in its early release stages, so bugs, glitches and server crashes are expected.
  
  • The servers will occassionally go down due to attacks on the server or extremely high load. Instead of creating a thread asking others whether the servers are up or not, you should check the server status on this website.
