It's physically impossible to catch more than 1,000 Pokemon in such a short time.
I said to imagine if someone did and 24 hours isn't that short of a period...

I've spent a ton of time in real life playing the game legit at a largely populated area with a ton of Pokestops. For the 6 hours I played in said day, I caught maybe 200 Pokemon.
Assume that average for 24 hours, and that's 800 Pokemon. Now take bots, who are catching 1000 and then some Pokemon every 24 hours. It's not happening.

That's not exactly how bots work, some sniper bots maybe (if you're fast enough), but regular bots don't usually catch 1000 or more pokemon. They usually don't even go for pokemon, they start walking towards pokestops and along the way if they find a pokemon they usually go for it. On average, with the new speed that's enforced to make it more human like, it's almost impossible for a bot to catch 1000 pokemon daily.

Regular bots used to catch 1,000 + Pokemon a day, but now they have a kill switch / recommended settings to prevent that.

Welp can't argue with that, but just saying I wouldn't be to surprised if outta the 7.4 billion people on Earth, one person would actually dedicate that much time to catching 1000 pokemon. Might even stream his "adventure"
This still is truly the safest bot i used. Actually level 32, not even a single softban
