need a prog to change BGM files in CA
ok i found one that does this made by Samueldo, but it needs modified.
it will not just be a simple rename a few options need to be added also.
there are several files that play during fireteam games on CA so to have tunes play correct you must change several files,
i'll attach a ruff idea screenie,
but if anyone is intrested in doing this i believe the program will be very useful.
just PM me and i would like to talk about it.
This program is fucking SIMPLE to make, it's not a 2 man project.
It'll only take 5 minutes to make.

i am not a programmer thats why i was asking if anyone was intrested in making one.
one of those '5 minute progs' would probably be just as complicated to use as doing it manually.
i'm not talking about something you type both files in manually and click change. if ya take time to make a prog make it user friendly.
1: have the CA sounds to change file names already in prog. (this actually involves 12 files right now), user would only need to add location of CA folder.
2: browse and choose file to use (column on the right side)
3: also be nice to have a backup copy of orginal sounds included in prog folder and a 'return to default' option/button

in example i put the files that need to be changed in the middle label, after your new tune is loaded it will be listed here
these are the files in game that will be changed
BGM_LOOP = lobby music (this needs to be a long song)
Ambient_BGM = used in first stages of cabin fever.
Last_BGM = final stage cabin fever.
SH01_BGM03 = final stage desert thunder, also few other spots during game.
SH01_BGM01 = used in various spots in DT
SH01_BGM02 = used in various spots in DT
Zombie_Ambience = used in quarantine
QRT_Count_BGM = countdown in quarantine.
next 4 are used in diff spots of FT and quarantine
SH01_Intro
Start_BGM
UIBGM_LOOP
WAITINGROOM_LOOP

A. who still uses vb6..........
B. No reason to draw out comments and responses
Lolland is a "Intermediate Coder" and knows what he is saying, though 5 mins may be alittle cocky
it's that easy, but no one has a obligation to make this for you.
@ the topic of 'User friendly" That time frame is considering usability

========================
this prog is not for me i have all my files the way i want them.
just thought this make it eaiser for the 'public' to mod ingame sounds
also thought someone might like a project.
i have worked with many many programmers in the past, and know some are looking for a project while others are just looking to flame.
it dosent matter to me what language it is programmed in.
that example i posted is just to show what functions 'i' think it needs.
its easier to just show example that try to explain.
i know how programming goes this is a simple project, but you have to take the time to figure out what files are played where in game. i have already done this.
Samueldo may mod his 'sound changer' to change these new files i PM him 2 times now. he seems kinda busy tho.
No ones uses 6 anymore
I'll do it, I have some spare time.
thanks lolland,
i think it would be a useful prog. i took a litttle time making up that example, buy looking at it you can see what all options 'i' think it needs. mabe someone have more ideas to make it better.
i'll go back and review my post and see if i see anything more i can add that may help.
