SolvedSo. Why can't I launch CF?

So. Why can't I launch CF?

No combination of uninstalling/reinstalling, VPNs, etc can get me passed this error.

Is it the network I'm on preventing me from connecting to CF? I'm on college ethernet. Some sort of filter, maybe? Literally every other game I've tried works just fine on this internet.

At first, I was only having this problem on WiFi and could play CF through ethernet. But, after a restart of my PC, it no longer works on ethernet either.

Is there a way around this? I know the servers aren't down, which is what that error is (according to google).

Try closing all other running programs, ive had sykpe intefer with programs before and the other would not run with skype running.

@Employer as what he said you can go to task manager and end all programs that are unwanted. College internet is horrible in my opinion, the only thing you can do is hope that you can launch cf by waiting for their internet to reset or w/e its called. its not a filter so relax its just probably a connection issue with just that one game. Maybe firewall problems ?

Well, I tried that, as I don't have many programs installed because I did a fresh install of W7 before the semester began. Only programs, besides steam and the games through it, that I have/had running are CoreTemp, Lightshot, and Chrome. Killed all of those, leaving just windows processes, and still the same error.

Created exceptions for CF in the firewall, disabled MS Security Essentials, the works. I dunno what it could be.

I guess I'm at the point of just trying daily and hoping eventually I get through something. Doesn't work on this computer or my laptop anymore. But, earlier this month, could play it fine on ethernet.

College be like, "Yeah, you're not playing this game" and blocked it when they saw me playing it on their network. But, CSGO works fine xD. Sucks.

um could just be a server delay between cf and the internet at your school

Nope. I even posted it on the Z8Gaymes forum and after similar replies and suggestions with no result, they eventually just stopped replying to me. I'm guessing there's no way around it.

Just weird that this is the only game that doesn't work. I tried a CF private server (fantasy games) to see if it was the whole thing and not just Z8Games or something, and that didn't work either. Got the same issue with HGW.

I've done everything I can do at my machine, and I'm assuming it's to do with the college's servers or something. So, perhaps there is no fix. Just don't know why it'll work sometimes but more often than not, it doesn't. Every now and again I can catch a break and get through and play some games, but it goes back to not launching after I close the game. Usually once a week or so I can get through. I try a few times a day.

Anywho, it's whatevs. No one seems to know anything so I guess it's solved.

Man. I really want to avoid that xD. I don't think that's the issue, because like it was the same situation with my laptop before I brought my desktop here. Like, it would work for a while, then it just stopped letting me through.
