It's permanent. Your just for a week question? nope it isn't.
You'll expect that a normal b-day event is just a new class, a new event (with shop) and a new update from the underground lab.
But not an enormous update of changing the hard to get reagents and items to ACs, good thing I did a bank glitch and store everything. Luckily, my bank is now less with the Nulgath items.

You seem to have misunderstood the Daily Note.
They are making the old farmed stuff into 0AC items so you can store them into the bank for free.
This isn't a one week thing. It's forever.

The thing is that there are a ton of items (at least to me) that just turned ac. This is why I doubt that they will stay forever. So I still can't discern anything because I have no reason to believe anyone yet.

- Yes. the items listed (and possibly more) are getting AC tags.
- Will they be able to be sold for gold? Who knows yet.
- These items are considered "hard to get" or "collectibles" which is why they're getting the tags.
- These AC tags prevent you from easily losing the items/allowing a hacker to delete your items quickly.
- As far as @asamortal and @Snowflurr told us, is that the change is permanent, not just for a week.
