Rooting Android

I want to root my 1 year old Android device.

Has anyone rooted multiple devices before / has experience?

Why is it called *dangerous*? I know you can harm system files and "brick" your phone, but can't you restore it - install the OS over again, and your files (images, videos, apps) should not be harmed (at least that's what happens in Windows, if something like System32 or any other system important file/folder is harmed, all you have to do is reinstall the OS)

So can you reinstall android (without losing personal files) on a bricked device? Or completely format the device and reinstall android?

How many devices have you rooted with succession?

Has any of you got their android phone bricked before?

Also, is getting your device bricked in any way possible (by random chance) even if you follow the instructions perfectly?

You're risking to get bricked, but other than that it's a good thing, if you can't update android, otherwise, leave it. It get's unstable.

There are tons of resources about that, and sometimes it's specific to device - unfortunately general isn't a good place to ask about that.

As other users have mentioned, there is risk of bricking your device.

the chance of your device bricking if you did everything right is too small to even worry about. it all sounds scary, which isn't.
get some info on xda I have rooted 4 times succesfully, I also flashed xposed 2 times which is considered more dangerous
