Linux and Vac

I have windows 7, if i were to change my operative system to Linux would i be safe from Vac?

Also, people say Linux can't be vac banned, does this mean you can hack really obvious and never get ban?

u can hack, but cant get VAC Banned, only OW ban

I mean Linux does have VAC it just sucks, just run as root.
