there is nothing in the description
Deca won't stop doing this shit, because they can afford, to do fuckall and still get tons of money for it.
it's so great, that we know they are reading this, but they will not respond here

30000$ a month for a company hosting a game is actually not much. Factoring in employees and the server costs, They aren't making a ton. Providing these shitty patches which are going to drive away more of the already small player base is going to inevitably cause the game to die off
To be fair that's not alot of money, it's gross income not net. Granted, there's probably a bit more coming in than you the data you have. In perspective it's not much at all. Realmspy was a direct threat to their income stream so I don't blame them.
Factor in the salaries of employees, transaction fees, servers, office etc. 30k a month is peanuts. Let's say they're being paid a conservative 30-45k a year. Their team would have to be relatively small (under a dozen employees) just to turn a profit.

ok...
and?
and?
If you think about it, all they have to do is make keys unsoulbound...
But they're not because that'll lower their income.
But they're not because that'll lower their income.
If you calculate employee costs it's not very much money at all. If they have about 5 devs working on the game that's a pretty shitty wage by a developer's standards. Not to mention the employess on support. Makes sense why they hire free labor (testers) to do a lot of the work.
totally agree with you. but as someone above said it was a direct threat to their income thats why they removed it so fast. but you got some good points there and i hope they actually see this and understand that they are digging their own grave this way. in stead of stoping players from leaving they just make them stay for another week or so with updates like these as these updates have no real content or interest for a player. these are all pure cosmetics that people who come here for the first time make( and it doesn't take that much work or skill). so yeah i hope you mess them up good so they actually get to work.
I got bored and decided to do some basic math. To go off what a few others have already said: $30k a month is nothing.
First, lets look at some recent job openings for Deca Games: https://angel.co/deca-games/jobs
(incase the listings get deleted at some point ill put them here)
If we assume they fill those 4 positions at the minimum salary listed, those 4 positions would cost deca ~$122,000 a year. That comes out to $10k a month just to pay those employees. Thats already 1/3 of the monthly income.
But, since those are positions that havent been filled, lets ignore that $10k. I dont know how many people currently work at Deca but ill just give it a safe assumption that they have atleast 3-4 employees and they are being paid atleast the same as the listed positions. So we can safely say theres a minimum of $10k a month going to pay employees.
Okay so now lets look at servers. My understanding is Deca uses AWS: https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/dedicated-hosts/pricing/
Looking through AWS pricing, servers can be from ~$300 a month up to ~$4000 a month. From some of the comments Deca has made in the past, they arent using the bottom of the line servers. So we could probably say they are in the range of ~$500-1000 a month per server. How many servers do they have? They have 22 servers.
So 22 servers, lets use the bottom estimate of $500/mo per server (which its probably a lot more), comes to $11k a month just for the servers.
Cost of employees + cost of servers brings us to ~$21,000 a month. That leaves ~$9000 left to pay for a building and any other kind of expenses that they accrue from running a business.
I could probably look up the average price of an office space where they are located, but im losing interest in this already.
Basically they whole point of this is that they really arent making very much money. They are pushing things like Mystery Boxes and cosmetic crap because they dont make very much. If we were to add in those 4 new employees they are wanting to hire @ $10k a month....well that puts them over $30k in expenses per month.
TLDR: They are easily spending close to $30k a month in expenses already. I really doubt they make much profit right now. I doubt this game will grow as quick as people want it to since they are making so little compared to what they are spending.

I remember when I released exploit to enter dungeons from anywhere in the world and they released yet another shitty patch
Community started hating on the "fix" and they realised their mistake and released proper one. They could just spend 1 more day thinking about how to fix my exploit and release proper patch, but no, they want to fix shit asap and that is retarded.

In addition, the 30k a month was based on gold transactions in the nexus... Think about all the gold accounts for sale that are for sale. These accounts have thousands and thousands of gold, but DECA never received compensation (chargebacked/exploited gold). What I'm trying to say is that the 30k number may be actually be 25 or 20k. Who knows could be even lower.

What the bots don't see is the transactions going on in the pet yard. I'm sure the pet yard alone is raking in about 10-15k extra. With realms instability due to exploits and such I don't see them having the balls to hire more employees.
Also, not sure if anyone has seen the warehouse apartment that deca calls its "office".

for those that want to see
