How to Flash Your Xbox
This tutorial is going to show you how to flash ANY xbox 360 drive. Just a warning: Doing this wrong can and will damage your xbox 360.
How to determine your Xbox 360's Drive:

Tools and Items you will require:
You'll need to crack the Xbox 360's case in order to get access to the SATA cables connected to your DVD-drive. THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
1) Hook your SATA cable from your Xbox Disk drive into your computer's compatible motherboard SATA port. Keep the power cable running from the disk drive into the xbox's motherboard. Hook your xbox up like you normally would when you play. (power supply and video cable).
Note: The video cable does not need to be plugged into a TV, just into the back of the Xbox to prevent an error.
2) Power on your Xbox 360 and open Jungleflasher.exe.
Ok, now your xbox is hooked up to your PC and you opened JungleFlasher. Navigate to the MTKFlash 32 Tab.
Now under the I/O Port, search for the one that has your drive.
In the top right, the available xbox 360 drives will be displayed. Click yours. It will begin the unlocking process.
If everything is done, we may now continue. Click read at the bottom right.
You SHOULD get everything okay. If it ask you to save or backup, just backup to your desktop.
It should ask you something similar to this:
Now, when you are at the Firmware Tool 32 Tab, check your two DVD keys. The bottom key should match the top one. Click save and save your firmware to the desktop.
Now you are already to write your Firmware.
Go back to the MTK Flash 32 Tab.
and all your info should be there, and click "Write".
After you have received this:
CONGRATS!
You've successfully flashed your xbox 360.
The JungleFlasher v1.71 is attached.

- Torx 7,10 and 12 screwdrivers to open the Xbox 360

Yeah, its actually pretty simple. I did it myself, but when I first went to do it, I was thinking:

SATA is REALLY REALLY basic stuff man, its the conecter of hdds, or newer cd-drives
It doesn't work with the newer liteon drives. Dats forsho
It does work for the new lite-on drives. I couldn't really explain it all that much, but the .pdf file I posted shows instructions made by the creator's of JungleFlasher.

how do i find out if i have a suitable sata chipset?
sorry, but i have another question: how do i find out what sata chipset i have?
normally you can look at the motherboard and tell, or you can look at the hardware for your computer...

ok, i've done some research and now i know i have a hitachi drive, but im confused on how to get the drive to modeB. can you make a tutorial on the safest and best way to making it modeB please? i've read other tutorials on it already, but i dont know which method i should be using.
Hitachi's are always the most annoying and the most confusing. I used to have a little business were I would mod xbox 360 for people, and when they sent me Hitachi's I would charge them extra because those damn things are so damned...

i have read it and it seems like its saying there is a command to make it modeB, what command is that? and does it work well? also, is there the latest ixtreme firmwares in jungle flasher folder you posted?
i have vista 64bit and everytime i run jungle flasher there is a portIO error. is that normal? i have also tried running it as an administrator

i just don't want to mess up my xbox360This tutorial is very short and very blunt. I have flashed my own xbox and this tutorial would help nobody. It is just easier to go onto the jungleflasher website and read the pdf that they have. Also you didn't include all the tools you need. For a lite-on drive, for the older ones, you have to use a connectivity kit. There is also a high risk of getting banned now even with the LT flashware out now. I would update this also because many people I know ask how to mod the newer drives. Since they have the tools now, the newer ones can be modded.
