SE Mac repair

I know people can SE screen repairs but is it possible for MacBook repairs for accidental damage, water spill on keyboard? It has apple care but not covered under it and want 800$ to fix keyboard lol.

Mine was one key, it is around 2 years old. It costs a lot because they have to replace all the top of the body and the battery and the keyboard, even though it's just one key.

agreed. but that would void his apple care for the future. There is a good chance apple would send the latest macbook to replace a lost one

if a third party repair shop replaced it, aslong as they use OEM parts you wouldn't be able to prove it was a different keyboard / replacement than the one installed in the factory

Apple has service history noted. If they check - they will know whether it was replaced by them or not

Who the fuck cares if he loses Apple Care? Like what's the point of having Apple Care if you have to pay $800 to get a keyboard fixed? Might as well lose it and save $6-700 than have Apple Care just to have Apple Care... People nowadays obsessed with anything with the word "Apple" or letter "i" infront of it, willing to pay and lose hundreds to thousands just for that logo smh..
