There has recently been a split of Bitcoin. It now has two chains, so your balance before 8/1 should be the amount of BCH (Bitcoin Cash) that you can access. 1. Make sure you have access to your seed/private key for your current wallet.

3. This is an optional step but I recommend it to keep your old (much more valuable) bitcoin safe from a new wallet. You should proceed to step 4 on a new device, one that your current wallet is not downloaded on.
4. Download a modified copy of Electrum which supports the new currency called Electron Cash. This is the link to it: https://electroncash.org/ⓘ
5. Import your old seed/private key into Electron Cash to make a new wallet. Click the green button on the bottom right, click the server tab and change it to a host which contains “bcc” somewhere in it to make sure you are running the correct chain. Wait about an hour or two for the network to update and you should see your BCH!

I'm interested too, but as i've heard to get BCC you should have had bitcoin in your wallet at the time of the fork...
But i'm not sure tho.

You can claim your BCC anytime but you must have private keys of your btc that was stored on a supported wallet before the fork

Ok so as i was thinking i can claim BCC depending on how much BTC i had in my wallet (with private keys) Before the fork..

exactly. You can also generate your private keys from the recovery phrase (12 word thing) and then use those private keys to get your BCC.

You will need to explain in detail on how you tried to do it. Which wallet did you use before? How did you obtain your private keys?

Make sure you are running a bcc server. You can change them in the bottom right where the green circle is.

You needed access to the private key before 8/1. If you didn't have it stored in there before then Electrum wont help.

It will only give you balance if you had the BTC stored in Electrum before 8/1

I use to get millions of ads for bitcoin but never cared for it.
