https://www.amazon.com/Acer-E5-575G-...dp_ob_title_ce

^ Ok so i bought this laptop and it has "Easy Access
Upgrades made easy! A convenient compartment door allows you to upgrade the SSD and Memory with ease."

I think there is a slot for like ram + ssd too.

I don't know much about computers, and i want to upgrade my laptop, i don't know what i should buy, any suggestions?

@Edible Cyanide, what's your current HDD? Also, what do you use your laptop for? Once you've answered both these questions, I think I'll be able to clarify you regarding your doubt.

You can't have 2 SSDs or 1 SSD and 1 HDD together I think. You can only upgrade the SSD that your pc has in it to a 1TB but it ain't worth it if you don't need the space.

Oh because There are 2 spots on the laptop 1 for ram upgrade and 1 for another SSD/HDD i think (not sure). But i don't need extra space 256 is plenty for me, so i should only get another ram stick?
My ram stick is 8gb right now, should i get another 8 gb to make it the same stick.
I don't understand why there are so many sticks IN THE SAME BRAND with 8 gb either.

Buy one more 8GB if you want, but pay attention to the Mhz, they should be the same I believe, otherwise you might get errors

It's such a shame the thread starter didn't go with a Desktop build originally though... It'd be so much easier and cheaper to upgrade it.

Well yeah, but a laptop is easier to carry. I personally own a Dell inspiron laptop (1050TI GPU and i7 CPU). I use an external monitor (LG 25") and it is perfect for gaming.. :P As for upgrading... meh.. I don't care so much. I believe it will last ~5 years before needing to upgrade.

tbh i doubt youll be getting any performance boost with that cpu by adding more ram, unless you like having 50 chrome tabs open all the time

not necessarily, if timings match you can even use ram with different speeds

not sure if the 1050ti will hold up that long if you want to game at decent framerates, for AAA titles ofc

The Laptop says : 8GB DDR4 Dual Channel Memory
If I buy any Ram Stick that is 8GB would it be ran in dual channel? (or does the brand need to be the same for dual channel or do i need to run it at the same speed to achieve dual channel). PS: well most of the time i just play league and have a chrome tab on for youtube.

Thinking of getting either of those but idk what's the difference.

If that's the only things that you have running usually, upgrading the ram isn't worth it :P

Which is why one should play for the safe side then.
