I would suggest just try getting an I-7, but honestly try getting them for free like social engineering wise so you don't have to spend so much.
If you can find one in stock go for the I5-8400. It's a locked 6 core part but all core turbos to 3.8-4ghz. For $200 it's a steal. Regards
6600k is worth the price for performance Way better than the FX series. But I'd suggest saving up a little more and getting a ryzen AMD. Absolutely rip through gaming
