Btc Transaction duration

someone send me some btc but the coin is still unconfirmed.

Can anyone tell me how long this will take ? (he used a very low fee!)

I didn’t do the math, but just from the back of my head, i’m pretty sure the fee is too low to even get confirmed. You might get lucky, but the minimum fee is like $1

Yeah the fee was to low, is the coin now gone forever or transdered back ??

So the theory is,
the transaction will be stuck in the blockchain forever. However, usually mine pools kick your transaction out after 7 days. What happens is that transaction will be deleted and the money will be returned back to the sender
