Apple refunds delayed?

Did 2 orders for my friends, both of them are being delayed. Asked another refunder and he said his were delayed as well. Is this a thing right now and does anyone know why?

I think its because its the holiday season at the moment..
Did 2 refunds 10 days ago and they were done in time.

i got refund confirmation, then 3 days later they sent me delaying refund. but it went thru after 2 weeks.
