Server broadcast limit?

My server is on my new computer and I can use my old computer to connect to it. However, my friends can't even though their pcs seem to have no antivirus. I also had them turn off their firewalls and they didn't have a vpn running. Can others connect to a server only within a certain distance? I went upstairs with my old computer and it's rubberbanding pretty hard.

did u port forward or atleast using hamachi?

Of course...That's how my old computer connected to my new one...
