His findings were, cyanide can possibly hurt, and shooting yourself from under the top of the mouth is more effective than through the forehead or temple.

This will be an unconscious death, similar to the lethal injection method. You'll be put in a deep sleep, then the carbon monoxide will slowly kill you

However the fatality rates of firearms are much higher, so this question is really about whether or not you're willing to risk a quick suicide for possible pain, or risk a possible failed suicide for no pain.
Either way I'd suggest waiting off until you kill yourself. At least make yourself useful, a lot of people will pay good money for someone willing to throw their life away.

This is why when people are near death due to body failure/injury they say they felt at peace.
Just live bro enjoy your time while you have it. I happen to have known someone who has lost both of his lifelong best friends through a car accident and he goes through grief every single day . What you may be going through may be tough but cherish your life, you only have one after all.
