Alot of users actually use MPGH in the dark and yes it is a bad habit but couldn't be stuffed to turn on the light. Also white is such a bright colour which can put alot of stress on eyes so maybe having a dark mode can be a good option for straining the eye alot less for those who use MPGH in the dark
Pretty sure Dave said this was on his list of things to add so just be patient.

If you have Windows 10, then you can enable Night Mode.
