ughhh, try this:
1) Right click the crossfire shortcut on the desktop then go to properties
2) Then in the shortcut tab where it says target it should say this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Z8Games\CrossFire\CF_G4box.exe"
Add this is the end of the target:
+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1024 +szy 768
so it would be like this
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Z8Games\CrossFire\CF_G4box.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1024 +szy 768
Make sure to put a space between " and +

lol i got the same problem but i dont bother anymore cuz its only small screen when im in lobby,when i start a game it goes fullscreen like it should
Once you've upgraded to windows 7, install the newest drivers for your graphics card. This should fix the full screen problem. Also, if you really want to, update the rest of stuff such as your motherboard, cd drive, sound card and etc.
To find what graphics card you have, click on the windows button and type in dxdiag press enter and go to the display tab. You'll see Nvidia or Ati graphics or w.e.

I HAVE WINDOWNS 7 PROFECIONAL 64 BITS AND THE GAME RUNNING PERFECT
Not a OS issue, it's a video card issue, I am assuming it's a ATI , which seems to be problematic on some wide screens, try decreasing your resolution of your monitor and change the settings in CF to match , also modify the properties to include screen resolutions not supported by your graphics card.
Resolution properties ---> Advanced options --> Uncheck hide resolutions this monitor cannot display.
play around to get it right, I would try setting your screen resolution to 1024 X 768 (or the next one up depending on wide screen) and match CF to it.
if all else fails, try forcing the application to run 800 X 600 , set screen resolution to the same.

I have windows se7en and mine has same issue...but i don't play cf anymore.
my graphics card driver is up to date
Im on windows 7 but i fixed it ok go to your screen resoulution and then make it 800x600
Then start crossfire,
After that go into a match finish it and then log out.
Finally change your res back to 1680x1050
Mine is always at 1680x1050

It's not a matter about being up to date, it's a matter of ATI not supporting higher resolutions in some cases.

have you tried going into settings and unchecking the "run in windowed mode" option?
try checking it, applying and unchecking it then reapplying
