Trusted Tag
What do y'all think of a "Trusted" Tag or smth like that?
In other forums you can get that when you send for example $500 as a deposit to staff in order to get trusted tag. In case you exit scam, or scam in general, this money will be used as an insurance to pay back the victims of your bad behaviour. In my opinion this would be pretty cool on MPGH as well as long as it comes with a special Tag and maybe [Trusted] before the username or smth like that.
One could also say that someone who wants to get Trusted has to show his identity to a staff member in order to get trusted and as a punishment his personal data would be released, in my opinion this would be a great way to gain more trust from users and to generate more sales while buying would become a safer and "insured" place here on MPGH.
Great idea but 500$ will not be enough :3
EDIT: Not enough because scammers scam too much, trusted tag should be given to old & trusted sellers (risky)
Pay $500 for tag, scam $1,500 get banned.
Come back on new account, pay $500 again, scam $2,000.

that was an example lol
ID + deposit would be the best in my opinion. and ofc you can always scam but your buyers would at least have some kind of security then so its better than nothing imo

Not only is this illegal and completely out of the question for Dave to implement, it wouldn't even act as as proper deterrent either. In what way would knowing someone's private information on this website be any sort of punishment, especially in the context of someone 'exit-scamming'. I guess people know who scammed them, but it doesn't recover any of the money/accounts/etc lost, and only acts to shame someone who already doesn't care about their reputation on the site, because once again they are 'exit-scamming'. For example, dozens of people on this site know my full name and where I live, releasing any of that wouldn't stop me from scamming anyone.
Ultimately the onus falls on the people involved in the trade to decide if they trust the person they are trading with. Reactionary measures can be put in place to try to remove offending members from communities, but scamming is simply an ever present negative nature of trading virtual items. Useful to remember that MPGH was never designed to be a platform for trading, and although it supports a community for doing as such, it can't be expected or demanded to develop an entire system dependent on it.
lmao $500 deposit to get a tag
/joyjoy
sounds like something an exit scammer would recommend.
