New Build

I'm looking to upgrade my PC but I figured it would be better off building a new one with the items that are currently in my PC, only thing I could really use is 16gb (2x8gb) DDR4 ram, Intel I5-6400 (Want to upgrade), GTX 1060 3gb (Want to upgrade) everything else is pretty much useless other than my HDDs. I currently have 2 1tbs and 1 750gb HDDS so I would also like to get a SSD obviously.

I'm currently only using 2 1080p monitors but I would like to get atleast a 1440p monitor in the future so something that can handle 1440p would be nice.

I'm thinking of getting atleast this : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079YDTYYB...ding=UTF8&th=1 , and a GTX 1070ti but I wouldn't mind some suggestions or complete builds from you guys.

I would wait a bit longer to get the gpu, as GPU prices are coming down from cryptominers selling their unprofitable rigs and Nvida is announcing their new cards

That CPU upgrade is over the top compared to your other specs. Your biggest upgrade is going to be an SSD you will actually see a world of difference in everyday use.

Might be wise to wait for the new cards coming out in a few months.

Getting a new card now is actually not a bad idea, the prices started dropping already.

Possibly consider a crucial nvme m.2 ssd.

then id go with at least a 1070ti or better
if you wanna use a 1440p 144hz monitor then id go with a 1080ti if your budget allows

im currently using a 1070 on such a monitor and its doing its job well but i want more fps thats why i got a titan xp which will be refunded by dama

and if you wanna go with a 1070ti or better id choose at least a 8600k to get the most out of the gpu

an ssd will also help you a lot as itll get your system response and boot times to another level
id rather go with a bigger sata ssd than with a nvme one, as sata speeds are still plenty fast and nvme is not that much faster (in realy world applications) compared to sata

Wait for the next gen gpu's to be released. They're rumoured to be quite good but no one knows for sure yet. As for the cpu, you could try a i7 like the i7-4790k, its affordable but also has a good speed relative to its price

also, regarding the ram, id recommend you stick with the same ram but just buy more of it. Assuming ur pc has 4 ram slots i would instead of replacing the 2, buy an additional 2 of the same kind and install those along side

Also, a good software on your pc to help control temperatures etc that i would recommend greatly is msi afterburner, its saved me when playing games like ark from making my pc go over 80C

Id say just go with the same monitors, or just buy a single monitor to replace one of them. Unfortunately, im not knowledgeable in regards to monitors so i cant rlly help u there

Also ssd's are much faster than hdd's so id invest into buying an ssd, although they have less space, they are very much worth it in my opinion.

Wait for the next gen gpu's to be released.

I heard @Dama is refunding GPUs for 25%, I'd consider that would free a budget in your build

Yes I do

Wait for the new cards to come out so the prices of the older ones drop and its a good cpu and motherboard
