Question

I bought a broken surface pro 4 and I was wondering if the following plan may work.

I will purchase a new one from possibly Newegg and return my broken one to them. This might mean that the box and item will have mismatched boxes ( I can replace boxes too).

I was wondering if you guys think this would work? Is there a better way to execute this?

they sometimes check the Imei or serial of the broken/returned item.

I can't remember is the serial on a sticker or etched on the surface?

They do sometimes check, but as your return reason you can say that it looked like it was already opened when it cam to your place.

I forgot to mention that my tablet has a hole in the corner. It works for a short amount of time.
