Need help finding new hardware

Hey,
My current specs are:
AMD a8 6600k
Geforce gtx 650
8 GB of DDR3
MSI Fm2E35A motherboard
256 GB SSD
750 W power supply
1 TB hard drive
built the system 5 years ago, gave it a couple upgrades here and there.
I'm looking to spend 500 to 750 on upgrading the machine, just wondering if anyone here had any suggestions as what i could upgrade to?

Honestly, the biggest step up would be either a new CPU, or a new GPU. Going higher with the GPU should be decent, as the Quad Core CPU should be able to handle what you need for gaming. Look at the 1000 range from NVIDIA.

Go for a GPU, just keep in mind it may get bottle-necked.

If you're in a regular-tight budget, I suggest getting an i3-8350K, a cheap Z370 motherboard, 8gb of ram and a GTX 1050 Ti. Ends up... near $750. You already have a good PSU, so no need to worry :P

And trust me
That i3 is a monster.

If you have just 500 $, I would upgrade your mainboard, CPU, and RAM at first and then wait a couple of weeks until you update the GPU.
The power adapter, SSD and HDD isn't worth to update at the moment
