You approved the malicious client within around an hour of it being posted by a suspicious account. That's really fast, for something which thousands of people would download.

Holy fuck, this is just a massive shit show right now, people pointing fingers at each other and posts getting deleted. If I were you I would start to update your own private client, I can't trust these clients anymore.

Checking through the code of an entire client each release might be too much work.
But a path to take is to compare the release to a safe client via a program like WinMerge. You could quickly figure out if there are any suspicious blocks of code.
