This is illegal, I'm sure it is. I want to put a song in with my applacation. Although is there anyway to do this legally without having them buy the song. Or asking permission. And is it illegal for the user or me.

Not sure...I know a way you can get free songs on iTunes though.

Hmm well seeing as the applet I am making is a hack, and in turn illegal I don't think it really matters..

To legally do it, you'd probably have to pay royalties to a performance rights organization like BMI. You pretty much pay them a certain amount of money to use the songs from the artist they represent. It can be really pricey, so you're better off just doing it illegally <_<

By the way, the point is that he has music, but he wants to know if it's illegal to put it with a program...

If they caught you, it'd all get blamed on you. The user of the program has no idea the music was obtained illegally. They expect you to have a contract giving you the rights to use it. Unless you tell them the music is illegal, it's not their responsibility.
