Return Refund

I'm sure this question has been asked as it's not that original of an idea but is it a safe bet to order an item and then claim you were sent the wrong item and send it back with the wrong item? For example, I have a 2017 laptop model but then order a 2018 laptop model of the same company and then claim they sent me the 2017 model and then just return my 2017 model and keep the 2018 model I just ordered? What are the possible repercussions as opposed to the traditional refund? Let's say I'm using this method on a company like Amazon or some other big named store. Thanks.

its possible yes but theres still going to be an investigation, plus you have to worry about the weight matching if that store checks that. why not just claim empty box? that way you can sell your old laptop

I think you have to have your 2017 model in perfect condition with no signs of use, in order to make them believe that they indeed sent you an older model.

They'd eventually find out and rebill..they have the right to if you defrauded them
