Listening Technology

Now I know there is some types of proof out there already but I want to know if you guys agree or disagree.

It seems like my phone or pc definitely listens to bits and pieces of conversations I've had. My latest one was an ad for an article specifically about Woodstock in 1969.

Which was odd because it's completely irrelevant to me other than my family and I were having a conversation about the exact same event in 1969 a few hours before.

So do you think your devices listen to you even if your mic is "off" or not in use? How, and how closely?

Ehh they prob are listening for feedback improvement.

Probably listening, even if it's only for advertisement. The same kinda shit has happened to me.

I mean, they have been listening to us years but no one cares really

im absolutely sure the devices listen, like alexa is always listening and ready to start up when you say alexa

the reasoning behind them listening differs though

i thought this was already known?

especially phones, even if you disable voice control or siri it's still gonna have an active microphone, headsets too.

like niggo said alexa is on 24/7

facebook already has pretty solid proof that it listens to you too to create relative ads.

would be tons of data, insane amount of data need to be converted to text and then processed with nlp = no bueno

I'd Like To Believe It, But I Keep Getting Voting/Samsung Ads When I Haven't Said/Done Anything Related.

I have this problem with my gf. We always go outside, talk about something, we come home and we both get advertisements exactly about what we were talking on instagram. Looks like others got this problem as well. Fuck

Maybe certain devices that have it all hidden in some specifications somewhere but I doubt your typical iphone etc would listen considering the sort of laws it probably breaks
