Check out java, lots of great tutorials on youtube or just the web. I recommend using eclipse as your ide as well for java.
Java is a perfectly good starting language but I personally think that Python is the most intro friendly.
I don't think java is a good point to start, I prefer python too. it is a great programming language for new learner, but you can also consider javascript, because of its popular and power. You can do the web, chrome app, and even native app (with react-native)
