I have the problem when I have connected another computer with the same ethernet cable and everything was fine on that computer and yes I am connected directly to the modem. This leads me to believe that it is a problem on the computer itself. How to resolve this any idea?
install drivers
drop kick the computer
what is the problem?

try these since you have not clearly mentioned what's your actual problem
1.Unistall and re-install the drivers
2.Try a different Eternet cable since you cable might got
3.reset windows setting if you mess with any of them
reinstall your motherboard drivers from the cd provided or from the web. that should fix it
If something not working in my case, but I have to waste time with small things like drivers and etc, just reinstall OS and all will be fine, install win 10 so u will not have to install drivers if ur PC is not so old.
boot to a live usb with ubuntu or something and see if it works with that - if it works, it's your current os; if it doesn't, it could be a hardware problem
Mobos need drivers to be installed for Ethernet, check drivers for your specific mobo on their site and put it on a USB, transfer it to the PC your having issues on and install. It should fix the issue.
