Version HELP

This might be a dumb question to some of u guys but here it is

my version of modern warfare 2 is 1.0.159 so is there a way to update it?
cuz i have seen loads of videos on youtube of how to play online becuz i cant play online and all youtube has is videos on the newer version

so please help

Launch Steam, klick view, klick ''My games'', right klick on CoD MW2 MP, klick properties, klick updates tab and set ''Always keep this game up to date''.

no problem, whats the problem with steam?

after it updates it i create my account log in then it shows logging in to ****** then it shows that for lik 5 mins then not responding.

ive restarted steam restarted the computer but no effect?
will if help if i say i use vista?
