RotMG Unity Client/Server Speculation
Do you guys think that Deca is going to rewrite the server side of RotMG to fit with the new Unity client. Or do you think they are just writing on top of the current networking protocol? From what i've seen in the videos, so far it looks like its just slapped on top of the old networking protocol.
As stated above they plan on running them in parallel so we will continue to have access to the client source, I dobt they will be changing things like the embeded xmls or the way netwoking works, since we do have access to the current RC4 cipher, and packetId map we can easily locate the memory adress which they are stored in the client for future use, we can also easily inject into the client to add a proxy server so krelay will definitely stay prevalent.
It's hard to tell what changes Deca will make. They probably will re-work some back-end hence proxy communications might be disabled for a time. Inevitably Flash clients will become obsolete.
deca should just hire reysharlel tbh
(i hope theres still some people around who understand what i just said lmfao)
Regardless of what happens, beta access will be open for a while so atleast some work should be done by the time most people get the client.
