Getting into Coding.
Where would anyone recommend learning how to use R? I want to learn data visualization and that kind of stuff

Do Hackerrank or Leetcode have options to add friends and see their progress. It would be a great alternative to what OP had in mind when setting up this thread!

i will advice you start with web dev, HTML.

well most already replied to you what I would suggest alot of people are stating that PHP is really a dead outdated language, and javascript is the devil so right now the best place to start with be HTML5 & CSS3 WITH BOOTSTRAP 4 for web design and java is always best for app development if your wanting to develop for android.
The main thing is not to bother with a bunch of materials, but to choose one thing. For example, when I studied unity, I gathered a lot of different resources, services and courses. In the end, I was torn between all this. Then I just focused on one of the courses and the process started moving. I advise you to choose the method that suits you the most and only deal with it, then you can change it. The main thing is not to spray your attention.
Codecademy is a really useful resource in getting started and developing your coding skills! I highly recommend it as a interactive learning platform
I will vote for C# and Python.
