Anyone with ADHD?
I was medically diagnosed with ADHD when I was 14/15.

With ADHD, I find it extremely hard to focus while having 0 motivation to do anything productive which often results in panic/anxiety attacks after because I wasn't doing things that I should have been doing.

I was a fairly decent student, being able to pass or be slightly above average in my studies without much effort till now.

Enrolled in college close to a year back and boy was it different.

Nothing was as easy as before, my memory wasn't as good ( might be due to the 2 years break from studying since I was in the millitary ) and for the first time in my life, I felt like I wasn't cut out for academics.

I have 4 final papers. Taken 3 of them; 2 which I'll be failing because I left 60 marks and 70 marks worth of questions unanswered. Suffered a mini panic attack half way through these paper because I couldn't seem to derive any answer. My next paper is tomorrow and even though I was previously extremely confident for it, the past 2 papers showed me that confidence no longer matter.

I'll most likely be repeating my year 1, incurring a 10k additional debt since I'm prologing my stay in college.

This is the very first time I've failed a paper and felt this helpless. This is a cry for help.

For anyone who have ADHD, how do you cope with college workload? I'm currently prescribed with ritalin but I feel that it doesn't help much. Should I switch to adderall?

I've been putting off visiting my psychiatrist mainly due to cost/tight schedule. But no worries, I'm not seeking medical advice. I'm trying to find people who are in the same predicament as me to offer tips on how they cope with this.

Singapore. Healthcare is subsidized here but for a student ridden with student loans and the need to work for my tuition fees and allowance, it's simply not affordable.
You should consult an expert for your condition but ADHD is very common now a days. Try to do small things and one task at a time.
I might have ADD but I never got it checked out because of cost. But I just buckled down and did what I had to. I might get checked out later down in life if I have ADD/ADHD but right now I don't know for sure.
I have a classmate with ADHD, takes tons of "drugs" and whiskey
Go see a specialist bro
My boy has adhd, he takes adderall & smokes cannabis. Says it keeps him focused and relaxed lol
My sister does … hard to deal with some days

Bro, while I know its a serious thing. But I do feel that its all in your head like a placebo. All you need to do is find a way to focus. You can't focus. Many people can't. Thats not a mental condition like people have made it to be. It just means you are very active and have a lot of energy to burn. You not wanting to do something or not passionate to do something is because you are not into the subject. Now I am sure, for eg. if you love playing a game, I make you play it, you would focus and play it for hours. If you know what I mean. Like the subject. Sit for 15-30 mins. Get up. Go around house, send a text or two (5 min break). Then get to study for another 30 mins. Make it a game in your head. that you get to relax after 30 mins. So those 30 mins. Give it your all. The more you practice this. The longer you would be able to sit in a go. YOU ARE STRONG! YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR BRAIN AND BODY! Don't listen to the doctors who say you have ADHD and what not. I understand where you are at. I have been in the stress. Way more than this. Trust me. I didn't want to study, I couldn't focus. Was bored easily. But I DECIDED NO! and got to it. While I don't have adhd. I can say I have been in a way worse stressful situation that most. So take control and push ahead.

PS- any help you need regarding college and subjects. Just hit us up. We will help you out. Just know, you got this. The payout from college would clear it all out. Try clearing everything out. Passing this exam and starting fresh with a clean slate with a new semester. Sit and study for 2 hours a day. Seriously. Thats all that you need to do to score well. Hit me up if you need help with college exam prep tips or anything. I will be glad to help you out! (I will also be starting my third year of computer science engineering from July).
@Reign, Hey bud... My name is phillip, I am 16 years old, a male, and living in Florida. I am currently the top of my class with a 5.6 gpa and Straight A's in my highschool every year. I have severe ADHD. Up to 5th grade I can remember not caring about school and loligagging around. I started taking medicine for my ADHD and I can focus and get work done. You should see a doctor for a prescription strength ADHD medicine.
