I got some job to do on my laptop, plugged some charger for some shit which have not good isolated contacts and while waiting to system boot I made short circuit in that USB, then laptop gone off and nothing happens, I start it again, everything seems okay until I had to plug USB, then I seen nothing happens. No error no nothing. I checked in windows device manager, it recognizes USB and everything is fine. I plug into boot flash to check if there recognize, nope, both USBs are dead. Tried resetting BIOS Settings, restarting it and no success. Well I am not sure did I plug it into USB 3.0 or 2.0 since both looks same, but I read for both are different controller, so if I killed one, why other is not working too... Idk what to do, does someone has any idea, repairing or what? or just forgot about USBs, power plug works, card reader works, everything, just not USB. Downloaded diagnostics thing from Lenovo and it says USB is fine.
If anyone have any suggestions on what to do, tell me, software & hardware, I guess if nothing about software is a problem then some chip - USB controller is dead, and how I can be sure about that, etc if anyone has experience about this but I don't want repair to be expensive since this cost used $300-400.
Edit, the laptop is Yoga 2
