Hey, I know the old Firewall rule method which I'm quite sure it should work on that game version.
I don't know what kind of EAC bypasses are around these days, but keep in mind that if you want to play that game version with anyone else (potentially nobody unless you get your friends to download the version too) they will also have to bypass EAC this way.
In order to bypass EAC using this method, follow these steps:
- Close the game if it's open
- Lookup on windows and open "Windows Defender Firewall with advanced security", you shouldn't struggle to find it.
- On the left column of the window that opened, select "Outbound Rules" and you will see a list of all the existing rules (it should be quite long).
- Click "New Rule" on the right and a window to create a new rule will show up.
- Select "Program" for the type of rule and click Next. (should be default)
- Specify as program path the executable of Dead by Daylight which you can find in the game files folder. The name of the file is "DeadByDaylight.exe", it never changed and it probably never will. After selecting the file, click Next.
- Select the action "Block the connection" and click Next. (should be default)
- Apply the rule everywhere: select Domain, Private and Public (should be default) and click Next.
- Give the rule a name and, if you want, a description and click Finish.
The rule has now been created and you may find it in the list; user created rules are usually right at the top and hence very easy to find.
In case it isn't by itself, enable it and you should be safe to go and start the game.
In order to verify whether the rule is working, you should open the game, wait until it all loaded and open the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc or Ctrl + Alt + Canc/Del -> Task Manager).
You should already be in the Processes tab, so lookup "EasyAntiCheat" by simply pressing E. If there's many programs that start with that letter, quickly press more and more letters of the eac name until you figure out whether it's indeed a running process or not. If it isn't but the game is running, that means good news: the method worked successfully!
Edit: I forgot to tell you what to do in case you find EAC as a running process: verify if you did all the steps correctly. If you're sure you have, then it's very likely that EAC will actually give you some errors when starting the game up with that rule on, however it all means that the method was already patched back then and you should try and look around some more recent bypass methods.
I remember playing version 1.8.0A (released back in October 2017) with a bypass method (that involved file editing) that was released in June 2018, so that can be a secondary option if my method doesn't work.
